About

Sarahi Merced

Program Manager
West End Neighborhood House Launcher Program

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Sarahi Merced grew up surrounded by perseverance and determination, navigating life alongside her mother and two siblings in a constant state of resilience. At the age of six, she returned to Puerto Rico, where she continued to build her foundation through education and service.

She holds degrees in Marketing, Management, and Public Policy Administration, along with a Master’s in Public Affairs. With over 15 years of professional experience, she has worked extensively with small businesses and entrepreneurs, offering counseling, guidance, and tools for sustainable growth. Her work has consistently focused on fostering local economic development and empowering underserved communities through entrepreneurship.

Specializing in microfinance and sustainable business models, she is deeply committed to creating opportunities for small entrepreneurs to thrive. As an active collaborator with nonprofit organizations, she advocates for inclusion, equitable access to resources, and the importance of business education as a pathway to community resilience.

In 2018, after Hurricane María struck Puerto Rico and left her without work or shelter, she relocated to Delaware. That life-altering event deepened her commitment to advocacy, leadership, and community rebuilding.

She proudly identifies as a warrior, advocate, and ethical leader, continuously working to uplift others and build stronger, more inclusive communities.

She describes herself as an opportunity creator where others see challenges.
