Robert Herrera
Founding partner
9th Street Development Company (9SDC)
Robert is a founding partner of 9th Street Development Company (9SDC), a Delaware-based real estate development firm leading the $75 million redevelopment of the Nylon Capital Center in Seaford, Delaware. This transformative project is one of the largest redevelopment efforts in Sussex County, focused on revitalizing a historically significant property into a vibrant mixed-use destination that will drive economic growth and community renewal.
In addition to his work with 9SDC, Robert is the founder and managing partner of The Mill, a coworking company that launched in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, in 2016. Under his leadership, The Mill has expanded to over 100,000 square feet and become a cornerstone of Wilmington’s entrepreneurial and creative community.
Robert’s entrepreneurial ventures extend beyond coworking and real estate. He has founded and advised multiple businesses in retail, restaurants, software development, and architectural design.
Before launching his own ventures, Robert spent more than seven years as an architect with Perkins Eastman and S9 Architects, two of New York City’s leading architecture firms. He oversaw the design and completion of several million square feet of residential, healthcare, and office projects across the United States, including flagship WeWork locations and the luxury condominium project 160 Leroy Street, developed in collaboration with Ian Schrager Company.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Infrastructure Planning from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a proud graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware.
