Dual Language Immersion Specialist

Ilianny C. Abad brings over 21 years of experience serving children and families as both a human services professional and a specialized educator. She has worked across nonprofit organizations, state agencies, and public school systems to support academic literacy, early intervention, and meaningful family engagement. Currently serving in the Milford School District (MSD), Ilianny leads and supports the Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program across grades K–12 in collaboration with the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE), focusing on program fidelity, instructional capacity building, and the success of multilingual learners. 

Ilianny is an advocate at heart and a national presenter who has shared her work at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). She actively collaborates with leaders across the country to advance dual language education and support multilingual learners. Ilianny holds graduate degrees in Education and Human Services and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Organizational Learning and Innovation. Her work centers on strengthening systems, elevating educator capacity, and creating equitable, culturally responsive learning environments where all students can thrive and see themselves reflected in their educational journey.
